Home Jobs with Cloud 10 Corporation

Recently, a new call center has come to my attention, known as Cloud10 Corporation. From what I have heard, it is a great work at home job, and is definitely worth looking into. After checking out their job info, I have to admit that it seems like an excellent opportunity. Unlike many work at home call centers, Cloud10 Corp.’s call workers are actual employees instead of the usual independent contractor. This means that you will be paid even for the time between calls, which usually doesn’t happen with most other call center companies! According to Cloud10’s website, you are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, and once you set a schedule with them you are expected to keep it. To me, this seems like another good company for those of you who either did not get accepted into Liveops, or are thinking about working multiple companies. If you would like more info, the link to the Job Section of their website is: http://www.cloud10corp.com/careercenter/ahp.html .

Also, the link to apply for the job is: http://tbe.taleo.net/NA11/ats/careers/jobSearch.jsp?org=CLOUD10&cws=1

Enjoy!

FAQ Friday- Secrets to Being Accepted Into Liveops

I recently received a question from reader pghm, who asked, “Is there any advice you can give me when applying to liveops so I can land this opportunity. Also how long do you think it takes to make 10.00 to 15.00 dollars an hour(weeks or months). How long is the process of applying to actually taking telephone calls? Any advice is greatly appreciated.” So, I’ve decided to make a post about tips for possibly increasing your chances to being accepted into Liveops, as well as answers to other questions about it.

From my experience, as well as what I have heard from others, the first tip to increasing your chances of being accepted into Liveops is to time your application. Now, during the summer, is NOT a good time to apply, as calls are usually slow at this time, and Liveops doesn’t really have a need for more workers. Instead, wait until fall, (usually around September) to send in your application. Right around this time, Liveops seems to usually to a mass hiring of many workers, so that they are well-equipped to take the huge increase of calls which occur during the holiday months. Other than this, pretty much the only other thing you can do is to try and do the best you can on the acceptance tests.

For the answer to your second question, it can take a while until you make 10-15/hour. When you start off working at Liveops, you usually do not get nearly as many calls as people who have been working for a longer period of time. The reason for this is that Liveops tries to base your call volume on your performance rating. (The better your rating, the more calls you get to take, and the more money you make.) As a newbie, the easiest way to get lots of calls to boost your rating is to work weekends as well as the “graveyard shift.” (Graveyard shift is from around 11pm-6am.) As there are less workers taking calls at these times, Liveops gives more calls to you. Also, remember to NEVER miss a commit. Whenever you miss a commit, your ratings drop, and it can take a long time to get them up again.

Lastly, the training process before you begin taking calls usually lasts about thirty days. (Before you begin training, MAKE SURE that you get one of the phones I have mentioned in previous posts ahead of time, as Liveops require it.) I know of many people who have not been able to complete training only because they weren’t able to find a phone in time. Be prepared.

I hope that I was able to answer all of your questions. If anyone has any other questions, or their own tips, don’t hesitate to post a comment below.

Good Luck!

Review of Babytobee

How would you like to be able to get paid for calling soon to be parents? Well, this is exactly what working at Babytobee is like. Basically, you are paid usually a set amount per hour to go over different free offers that companies are willing to give to the parents. This is not spam or telemarketing, as all of the people who are being called have either signed up themselves to be called, or have been submitted by a friend. From what I have heard, the pay with Babytobee is about $10/hour, which is pretty good for working at home. Pay is currently weekly by direct deposit.

You can visit their website here:

http://www.babytobee.com/index.aspx

As far as I can tell, your best chances of getting the job are by emailing this person who works for the company:

Good Luck!

The Problem of Finding Work at Home Phones

So you get accepted into a phone order processing company, (in my case Liveops), and you suddenly are told that you are going to have to find a phone to use for taking their calls. But, there’s a catch! The phone has to have no caller id, no hold, no call waiting, no answering machine (basically no additional functions.) But, at the same time it has to have a port that you can plug a headset into, so that your hands are free for typing. Well, I thought that this was going to be easy to find a phone like this. Turns out it isn’tFrown. Circuit City-No, Walmart-Nope, Staples-Well yes, but it’s extremely expensive (Like over $100!). Finally, after lots of searching, I found that there are a few phones that other agents love to use (and aren’t too expensive!) So, if you are new to ACD Direct, Liveops, West at Home, or any other work at home company, I’m going to make it easy for you to find the perfect phone for you. I’m going to list them along with the current prices. Some are a little expensive, but they also are the best of quality and ease of use. All of the phones below can be ordered off of Amazon through the link next to it at a much cheaper cost than in-store. (The price listed is the price of the item from Amazon. Keep in mind though that if you order the item from an Amazon merchant (clicking the used & new section of the item) the item sometimes is even a lot cheaper than it is from Amazon. For example, when I looked, the $75.24 phone, in the new and used section was selling at $30! That’s $40 less than what Amazon is selling it for. Enjoy!

Phone Name/Link For Purchase  Cost  Rating  Add. Info
 Panasonic KX-TS105B Corded Speakerphone (Black)/ Link  $25-$30  4.3/5
 Plantronics TELEPHONE HEADSET SYSTEM ( S11 ) Link  $54.24  3.7/5  Headset Included
Plantronics T10 Corded Headset Phone Link  $69.47  3.5/5  Headset Included
Plantronics S12 Corded Telephone Headset System Link  $75.24  3.9/5  Headset Included

ACD Direct- A Friendly Home Job

Published by ejobtips under Order Processing Edit This

I have to admit, on my last post I noted that Liveops is by far my favorite work at home phone order job. At the same time, it does have a few setbacks. Though the supervisors are helpful, you really are treated more of as a number instead of a person. Additionally, when you set commits to work, you better be there, or else. (Seriously, if you cannot make your commits, I recommend you pray that some other nice soul takes them, as if they don’t your Sales Ranking will go down, meaning less calls (less money made.)

Acd Direct, on the other hand is more of a laid-back environment. Your supervisors are usually very friendly, average people who are happy to have you working with them. When I first began working with them, I was shocked that my supervisor said that while taking calls I could call in and ask for a break to use the restroom and relax. With Liveops, I would pretty much just have to hold it in, or try to rush to the bathroom between calls. Another thing with ACD is that if an emergency does come up, I have heard that they usually will be ok with you canceling your commits, and will not hold it against you. Additionally, ACD’s training is completely different than the Liveops training. With Liveops, it was just me and a computer program, learning the material and then taking quizzes on it. With ACD, you are in an online environment, talking personally to your supervisor.

Now, on to the reasons why I chose Liveops over ACD. To start with, ACD’s scheduler is very complicated, and just difficult to use. With Liveops, you basically will just wait until they open up the next week’s schedule and then click on all the green time boxes that you want to work. With ACD, it is a little different. In addition to this, when taking calls, Liveops’ call program is a lot more simplistic and easy to start with. The ACD program seems a little less sophisticated and again, is difficult for me to use.

Now I’m just going to get to the calls themselves. With Liveops, you are taking orders for basically most products advertised on tv, which mean that you are probably going to be taking calls most of the time and won’t have to worry about not making money. ACD on the other hand specializes more in fund raising drives and charities. Though I find this great and really fun to do, (and there aren’t any upsells!) it means that the calls are more seasonal, and only when campaigns are going on.

Still, over all both companies are excellent to work with, and out of all work at home companies, these would be the two to work for. Hey, if you are able to why not just work for both companies! This keeps your options open in case one company isn’t getting as many calls at the time, or if in the future one of the companies should possibly go out of business.

Well, that’s all for now, and please don’t forget to subscribe to my blog! -Lisa

Is Liveops Perfect For You?

Published by ejobtips under Order Processing Edit This

Yesterday, I wrote about the popular online job known as Order Processing. I have worked for many of these companies over the years, and out of all order companies, I must say that Liveops is one of the best. Liveops (www.liveops.com) specializes in processing orders for ads on tv, as well as on the radio. Unlike many other companies in this group, Liveop’s agent training program is very in depth, which means that it was very easy for me to get started and know what I was doing. I found this different than many similar companies, with which upon being hired I was immediately told to take calls without any training. (One company even wanted me to PAY for my training.)

I consider Liveops to be the easiest to use when processing scripts, as everything is laid out in a clear and organized format. Additionally, I find their calls fun to take as I get to sell many of the latest things out in the market (especially the newest fitness equipment.) The only difficult part of Liveops is that many of the calls are extremely overloaded with up-sells, which are additional items to sell to the customer. (For example if the customer orders a smoothie-maker, some of the up-sells might include a book of smoothie recipes, a warranty for the smoothie-maker, etc.) You do get a cut out of most up-sells which the customers take, but sometimes the up-sells just go on and on and never seem to stop. I have had a few customers just hang up on me since it was taking so long to order. In addition to taking calls, Liveops has a very easy to use scheduler for scheduling times to work. Basically it looks like a calendar, and all you have to do is click on the time-slots that you want to work during.

I consider Liveops to be the best paying work at home job, and the money I make off it is enough for me to pay for the additional phone line I use to work for them as well as to have some extra spending money Laughing.

As a note, Liveops does charge you a $50 fee to begin working for them, since this is what it costs them to perform a credit and background check on you. (I’m pretty sure this is waived if you are a college student.) This is mainly because you likely will be handling customers’ credit card numbers and other personal information, so they want to be sure that you are reliable.

If you would like to apply to be an agent of Liveops, or would like more information, here is a link:

Is Order Processing the Perfect Job for You?

Published by ejobtips under Order Processing Edit This

There are thousands of different companies providing work at home jobs, but by far the highest paying ones are the Order Processing Companies. Here’s how they work. First a customer watching t.v. or listening to the radio hears an advertisement for a product that they want.  These ads usually contain a phone number which can be called to order the product. So, the customer decides to pick up the phone and call. This is where we as agents come in. Our phone will ring, and a script will pop-up on our computer screen. All we have to do then is read the script over the phone to the customer, and process the customer’s order (basically get their address and payment info.) That’s all there is to it. These order processing companies usually pay by hour on the phone, and the schedule is extremely flexible, as agents can schedule to take calls at pretty much any time of the day, usually in 30 to 60 minute blocks.

But, is this the right job for you?

This job is perfect for you if:

  • You love talking to other people.
  • You are friendly, able to think quickly and reliable.
  • You can stay composed even if the customer is the rudest, most obnoxious person in the world.

Here are some requirements for these jobs:

  • Absolutely no background noise! This means no babies crying, no dogs barking, etc. These companies are usually very strict about this.
  • You will need an additional phone line only to be used for taking orders. (Basically, they do not want you getting calls from friends or relatives while you are working.
  • You will need a phone without an answering machine, no call waiting, no hold. (Pretty much one with no additional functions.)
  • At least be able to work once a week, if not more.

If this job seems perfect for you, or if you enjoyed this post, please subscribe to my blog! I will be making posts in the near future discussing my favorite order processing companies, as well as many other work at home jobs. Enjoy!
