Using Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising

Published by ejobtips at 11:53 pm under Advertising Edit This

If you have tried every single free option to drive visitors to your site to no avail, your next step might be to pay for advertising. There are thousands of different ad networks on the internet and hundreds of different ways to advertise, but for this I am going to stick with the main one. From my experience, the best advertising option on the internet is Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising. The two top PPC companies currently are Google Adwords and Yahoo Advertising. I have tried both, and I have to say that Google’s program is by far better. You get more clicks over a more diverse audience with their program. Additionally, Google is extremely good at detecting fraudulent clicks. The only thing I would worry about with Google’s program is the fact that their clicks can be quite costly and it is easy to quickly spend a lot of money with them. The main plus that I have noticed with Yahoo’s program, on the other hand is that it accepts Paypal. I have not had much luck with Yahoo in terms of quality clicks. When choosing keywords to bid on for PPC advertising, I recommend using niche ones similar to your site first and then going into the broader keywords. The reason for this is that the niche keywords tend to be less expensive, as well as you are more likely to have your ad shown higher up on the page. For example, if have a blog about poodles, consider using the keywords: poodles, toys, miniature poodles, and standard poodles, before going into broader keywords, such as: dogs. Another thing to consider is to try using advertising with Google’s content ads before using it’s search ad advertising. The reason for this is that your clicks on the content program are sometimes more likely to be from users truly interested in you topic, and those users are sometimes more likely to stay on your site for longer periods of time. For example, before using Google to advertise on the search term poodle, consider using Google’s content program to advertise on blogs similar to your’s that are also about poodles and are in Google program. And that’s about it. PPC advertising is quite simple to use. Just remember to set a limit on the amount you plan on spending, track your statistics, and use niche keywords.
