Driving Traffic To Your Blog
Unlike most businesses, blogs do not automatically attract visitors. No matter how great your blog’s content is, it isn’t worth anything if nobody is visiting it. Here’s how to drive traffic to your blog:
The first thing to remember is: keywords. Keywords are the words that people will type into search engines to find links to sites. The more quality keywords you have in your articles, the better. For example, if you are writing an article on Poodles, try to include the word poodle in your article at least a few times, along with similar words.
After you have optimized your articles, it is time to start submitting your blog to search engines. Below are the links to submit your blog to.
Google: http://www.google.com/addurl/
Yahoo: http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html
If you notice any other search engines, try to submit to them as well.
Another thing to try is posting comments on blogs that are similar to yours. Make sure to include your blog’s address when posting. After you have done all of these things, you might want to try social sites. Post your articles on websites such as digg.com, reddit.com, and stumbleupon.com. Last but not least, you should try out the Social Blog site Entrecard.com. Check out the intro on their homepage to learn more about them. The day after I submitted one of my blogs to it, I noticed a 40% increase in visitors. This site does wonders to your traffic. These are all of the traffic tips I have for now, but more will be coming in the near future, as well as tips on monetizing your blog. If you have any suggestions, please post comments! Enjoy.
