Is Liveops Perfect For You?
Yesterday, I wrote about the popular online job known as Order Processing. I have worked for many of these companies over the years, and out of all order companies, I must say that Liveops is one of the best. Liveops (www.liveops.com) specializes in processing orders for ads on tv, as well as on the radio. Unlike many other companies in this group, Liveop’s agent training program is very in depth, which means that it was very easy for me to get started and know what I was doing. I found this different than many similar companies, with which upon being hired I was immediately told to take calls without any training. (One company even wanted me to PAY for my training.)
I consider Liveops to be the easiest to use when processing scripts, as everything is laid out in a clear and organized format. Additionally, I find their calls fun to take as I get to sell many of the latest things out in the market (especially the newest fitness equipment.) The only difficult part of Liveops is that many of the calls are extremely overloaded with up-sells, which are additional items to sell to the customer. (For example if the customer orders a smoothie-maker, some of the up-sells might include a book of smoothie recipes, a warranty for the smoothie-maker, etc.) You do get a cut out of most up-sells which the customers take, but sometimes the up-sells just go on and on and never seem to stop. I have had a few customers just hang up on me since it was taking so long to order. In addition to taking calls, Liveops has a very easy to use scheduler for scheduling times to work. Basically it looks like a calendar, and all you have to do is click on the time-slots that you want to work during.
I consider Liveops to be the best paying work at home job, and the money I make off it is enough for me to pay for the additional phone line I use to work for them as well as to have some extra spending money
.
As a note, Liveops does charge you a $50 fee to begin working for them, since this is what it costs them to perform a credit and background check on you. (I’m pretty sure this is waived if you are a college student.) This is mainly because you likely will be handling customers’ credit card numbers and other personal information, so they want to be sure that you are reliable.
If you would like to apply to be an agent of Liveops, or would like more information, here is a link:

Thanks for visiting my blog!
Yes, West is quite similar to Liveops, except that Liveops’ scripts and the scheduling program are both at times a little easier to use than the ones at West at Home. I think that if you do apply for Liveops and get in, you will love it. Good Luck!
@Monchster
I have been working at Liveops for about 3 years now, and it is by far my favorite job. I have found the pay excellent for a work at home company, especially on weekends, where they usually throw in a bonus at busy times.
Um…Live Ops is not as wonderfull as everyone is making it out to be here! It is an OK oppourtunity. It can be turned into something good through hard work…but you usually spend alot of time waiting for calls than you do taking calls. And when you have a problem with not getting paid for the work you have done you find out how little they really do care for you…you cant even speak with some one about it….a communications company that you can not communicate with…OMG….LMAO…..you will get stone walled and be blamed for the mistakes even after you have proven that your AF made the mistake and then get lied to about your being sent…it has been two months since working for them and I have not seen a dime of what I have earned…they owe me over 500$
ao how do i get in on the lawsuit…cuz they are in breech of contract, as far as I am concerned. I had a person in thier legal dept tell me today that she does not care about me…had my AF tell that since she has never had problem with pay, she doesnt understand why I am so upset…I responded cuz I am not getting paid Einstien and it is rude to brag to that you are!!
@Mr X-
I am sorry that you had a bad experience with Liveops, but you have to understand that for many people this is an excellent job. There aren’t that many options out there for work at home jobs, and to many people, including myself, Liveops is by far the best and easiest way to make money while working from home.
As for your complaint about waiting for calls- Even in a physical business, they aren’t going to promote you to manager or ceo within a few weeks or months, it takes time and diligence. The same thing applies with Liveops. Yes, when I first began working there, I started off only getting maybe two calls per time slot (sometimes even less), but I stuck to it, and gradually, over time, Liveops began to give me more and more calls to take. Now, even if I don’t commit, I barely have any breaks between calls and my phone is constantly ringing.
During my time with Liveops, I have made some mistakes in calls, and have found Liveops to be pretty forgiving, as long as I didn’t make the same mistake again.
I’m not sure what to make about your payment issue, but I have had no problems at all with this, and always receive my payments promptly. (Also, I’m not quite sure why you consider this bragging, as I am only saying that I have had no problems with them.)
Basically, what I am trying to say is: Even though you may have had a bad experience with Liveops, the majority of the people I have talked to love it. Please don’t ruin it for the rest of us.
Is there any advice you can give me when applying to liveops so I can land this opportunity. Also how long do you think it takes to make 10.00 to 15.00 dollars an hour(weeks or months). How long is the process of applying to actually taking telephone calls? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
@ pghm-
Thanks for posting! Also, you just gave me a great idea for a blog post. I plan on making a post this Friday answering all of your questions, along with other frequently asked ones. Thanks again.
Can someone tell me why after I applied with liveops, at the end of the application process it tells me to reapply in 6 months? Then I email a rep which tells me to check the FAQ page, which doesn’t supply my answer and the rep tells me thats all they can do. Im not trying to say anything negative about this opportunity, I just need to make some extra cash.
I too just received an email the other day offering me the opportunity to join LiveOps, and it appears to be exactly the same conditions as what Concerned mentioned. The fee is $175 with quite a bit of additional paperwork as well as hair testing for the drug test. They did specifically mention that this is a “unique” inbound opportunity, and we would be providing services for a specific, idnetified client project. Any insight as to what this opportunity might be would be greatly appreciated.
I have been trying to get on board the LiveOps train for a couple of months now, anyone know why no agents from NY are being qualified?
Here’s the answer to why the background check fee is sometimes more than the $50 listed on the LiveOps website (inwhich I found on the FAQ section of the LiveOps website):
Q: I’ve received an invitation to certify for LiveOps, however it indicates that the background check fee is significantly higher than the amount stated on your website?
A: For certain programs, the client requires a more extensive background check that includes employment verification and drug screening. The fees for this screening are significantly higher than the fee for the LiveOps background check. If you have been invited to contract with LiveOps, and the fee on the invitation is higher than the $50 fee on the LiveOps website, your home based business has been invited to contract with LiveOps to provide services to one of the clients that require a more extensive background screening. It is every applicant’s option to accept or reject any invitation from LiveOps to certify to become an agent, and LiveOps attempts to fully disclose the terms, conditions, costs and fees associated with a particular invitation before any applicant begins the certification and background screening process. All agents who provide services to LiveOps are independent contractors, not employees, and this expense is the sole responsibility of the agent. Applicants will not be reimbursed for any part of this cost for any reason.
I too got the message at the end of the qualification process to apply again in 6 months. I have no idea why this happened because in my background I have almost everything they are looking for. I was very surprised actually. I sent an e-mail asking why and of course, I haven’t heard as it was only 10 minutes ago. I read the FAQ’s before I started the Qualification Process and saw nothing in there that would tell me why I was disqualified. I would like to know why because it concerns me as to why I would be turned down with my background. And as Nino said I am not attempting to say anything negative as I don’t know about the company. I too was looking for a way to make extra income. Can someone respond to this please? I would really appreciate it.
I have a Mac… I know some work at home sites aren’t able to hire MAC users.. does anyone know which ones allow?? What about the other companies like AlpineAccess or Arise, and Convergys any insight into these companies compared to live ops ???
I too received an invitation to work for a special client, at the cost of $175.00 - after the $50.00 to Liveops. Has anyone taken advantage of this one, I would like to know if it panned out before spending the $225.00, thank you
I got offered a job with Live Ops. My fee for the background check was $175.00 as well instead of the $50.00. They say it’s a “unique inbound opportunity” with a company associated with Live Ops. I’m just wondering if anyone has accepted this offer and what exactly are we expected to do for Live Ops? I’m concerned because no information was given explaining what is expected of me. Are we taking orders, selling, etc…? I don’t want to pay the $175.00 and hate what I’m doing.
Same here in regards to being told, there was the message to reapply in 6 months. Whats up with that? Doesnt make any sense to me, I am only glad I didnt hand over my monies!
The $175.00 backgroung/credit check is for a dedicated line group not dr. It is inbound sales and retention. I have heard many agents reporting that the call volume is good, I did not choose to pursue this opportunity because of fees involved so I cannot say 1st hand. I have worked for LOPs for almost 3 yrs and if you put some effort into it you can make very good $$$$.
So, let me see if I’m understading this correctly. You get accepted to LiveOps, pay your $50 fee, then do they tell you to work you need to pay the additional $175? What if I don’t want the additional “unique” opportunity and just want to work for LiveOps…will I still be able to, or do I go back to a waiting list or something? Sorry for the questions - LiveOps looks promising, but I like to have a full picture before investing too much time or money. Thanks in advance to any and all that could help fill me in.
How much money can you make with live ops when you start? Is it hourly or commissions? I’m new and have no clue how the pay is. any advice is appreciated.
If a agent works a steady 4 -6 hrs a day with LiveOps, say doing towing calls, foodservice, etc how much can they expect to make a month? I saw the recent post of $162 for 2 hours and that was not very encouraging. Can one make steady, decent (line a few grand a month) money in this job? tks
I have tried to apply with LiveOps in the last few days…no matter how many times i try to get them to send the verification email so I can begin the process, it never arrives…I have checked all my spam and junk folders…the email just doesn’t come…any suggestions?
someone suggested me liveops site.I have an experience in customer service for more than ten years.but I dont know how to start with love ops to work from home. I really need a job asap.
I would like to apply to LiveOps after January lst but I’m curious what type phone (corded)and what type headset is best should I be selected. I have 21 months of previous home agent work but was provided by a company computer at the time. Any information is appreciated
I have been waiting for a reply from them since 12/7 and every time I check back, it says I have completed the prim. step. But no offer or anything. Can someone tell me how long it take.
Second thing, tell me about the credit check?
I’ve officially applied to LiveOps about 4 days ago. So hope I get selected as need the extra $$. I have call center experience so am very hopeful.
do not work for LiveOps. my sister worked for them for 6 months and made no money. it was a substantial investment in time and that stupid ‘enrollment fee’. the bottom line is if you are not prepared to take calls back to back to back to back and earn your stupid $0.15 to $0.25 a minute, then this is not for you.
there were times when my sister would sign up for a four hour block and waited nearly 2.5 hours of that time for calls at $0.15/minute! LiveOps only pays you for talk-time. the rest of the time you sit and wait. what a waste of time. at least flipping burgers you get $6.75/hr for just standing there.
this is the way they get you — work at home for 15 cents a minute only if you actually get a call. i have a feeling that their computer system has a way that tracks agents so that if you are not one of those back to back people, you just don’t make any money. so this means that everyone is not being treated fairly.
Why doesn’t LiveOps hire in NY?
